11. Braes O'Balquidder: Traditional
About the song: This song, The Braes O' Balquidder, is the traditional forerunner for the more contemporary arrangements known as "Wild Mountain Thyme", "Bloomin' Heather", and "Go Lassie Go." Bill & Kathleen began as musicians with the group called "Wild Mountain Thyme" in 1991. Kathleen says, "Learning "The Braes O' Balquidder" from the Tannahill Weavers has given me a way to sing a more traditional version of that fondly remembered song. It allows me to move forward with the wisdom and experiences of those performing years to lead this song. This song is in it's infancy for us here, but I that I hope that will become a new trademark piece for 3 Pints Gone. "
